EEG Recordist Training Course in the Professions Supplementary to Medicine in the Ministry of Health

APPLICATIONS are called for recruitment to the Electro Encephalograph (EEG) Recordist technical Training Course in the Professions Supplementary to Medicine in the Ministry of Health. EEG is an instrument that measures electrical potentials on the scalp and generates a record of the electrical activity of the brain. It is also called encephalograph. This is also somewhat similar to that of MLT (Medical laboratory technician) profession in the health sector.

Students are selected on the Z Score marks of the GCE (Advanced Level) Examination from 2003 to 2007.

Educational Qualifications :
G. C. E. (A/L) Examination from 2003 to 2007 in 03 subjects at one sitting in Science Stream of subjects with a pass for Physics and a Credit pass for Zoology/Biology including one of the following subjects (Botany, Agricultural Science and Chemistry).
G. C. E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects including English, at not more than two sittings with Credit passes for Sinhala/
Tamil Language, Mathematics, Science and one more subject.
Applicants should be between 18 – 30 years of age.

Application deadline –   31 August, 2010.

Scheme of Training :
Selected candidates will be admitted to the Relevant Training schools.  This is a full-time course conducts on 5 week days  and  forenoon on Saturday. The trainees will be paid Rs. 6,000 per mensum during the period of training.
